This show was performed as The Checkerboard Mesa Band (their name prior to Center Divide) at the famed Harry Denton's Starlight Room in San Francisco, CA. It was a Holiday party celebration for SPL and Center Divide alternated sets with The Starduster Orchestra during the evening. The fist set was acoustic, with no drummer and then they really started to rock. Enjoy! -Set 1- 1. The Last Temptation of Odysseus 2. Fragile 3. Learning to Fly -Set 2- 4. A Pirate Looks at 40 5. On April 27, 2016, Chris Simpson granted permission to host Center Divide recordings on the Live Music Archive
As the former manager for Center Divide, a Bay Area based folk-rock quartet, I'd like to request creation of an archive collection page for the band. Center Divide (http://www.centerdivide.com/theband.htm) played a number of live gigs in and around the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid nineties. During this time, as the band manager, I amassed a small collection of live recordings that I would like to share, particularly with other Center Divide fans, who span across the country, as well as create a permanent archive. The band also released an album, Lovelock to Winnemucca, which still sells today on Amazon.com, which I would not be uploading.
I have been given permission by the three founding band members, Justin Wells, Joey Muller and Todd Miller, to archive and share the live material I have. The intention would be to upload the shows and make them available for streaming and download.
